3 month agoAbdul Mateen Qane, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, stated that last night’s earthquakes in Kunar and Nangarhar have so far killed 622 people and injured 1,555 others, with many homes destroyed. Of the deceased, 610 are from Kunar and 12 from Nangarhar. Among the injured, 1,300 are in Kunar and 255 in Nangarhar. Qane, quoting Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, said that local officials must immediately assist the affected families

5 month agoRussia has become the first country to recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The Taliban flag was hung at the country's embassy in Moscow. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, today the Russian authorities officially recognized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. According to the Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov proposed recognizing the Taliban in order to establish a partnership with Afghanistan.
